We enable children, young people and families to feel valued, connected and strengthened and have hope for the future

The Family Unit

The Family Unit is an early intervention and prevention service that provides programs and personalised family support to families with children 0-18 years.

The Family Unit focuses on supporting families to build strong, connected relationships through education on parenting skills, healthy relationships, self-control, behaviour management strategies and empowerment. From toddler tantrums to challenging teens, parents learn to navigate these problems with their children by teaching them to be responsible whilst maintaining their loving connections.

Who can access the service?
Families, parents, children and young people (0-18years) who find themselves in a vulnerable situation but are not currently subject to a statutory child protection intervention can access The Family Unit.

Families must also be living within the catchment of Logan West which includes Boronia Heights, Browns Plains, Crestmead, Forestdale, Greenbank, Heritage Park, Hillcrest, Marsden, Park Ridge and Regents Park, Munruben, Jimboomba, Yarrabilba and Maclean.

What else does the Family Unit do?
The Family Unit also runs group programs for children and young people such as Rock and Water, Girls groups, Boys groups, Perceptual Motor Program, Peer Skills, and Protective Behaviours, just to name a few.

These programs can be held in schools or at The Family Unit. If you are interested in your child/children joining a group or having a particular group facilitated at your school, give us a call.
