Our Settlement Grants Program (SGP), funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, helps newly arriving humanitarian refugees to settle into the community.
Under SGP, we work with humanitarian refugees from countries such as South Sudan, Congo, Burundi, Liberia, Afghanistan and Iraq.
We develop and conduct information sessions to help newly arrived refugee families understand how aspects of life in Australia will affect their family life here and how to manage the changes in family, parenting and inter-generational relationships.
We also provide orientation support through casework and social activities to help individuals and families become self-reliant and access mainstream services in the community.
SGP services are provided at our Dutton Park and Toowoomba centres.
