Toowoomba is seeking to recruit 2 Foster & Kinship Care Workers.
You will be given the opportunity to implement your excellent
interpersonal skills and theoretical knowledge gained through
your relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work,
Behavioural Sciences or Psychology to work alongside children
and young people. Understandings in the areas of physical,
emotional and social development and the impacts of trauma on
these are crucial, as well as a working knowledge of the
complexities associated with statutory work. You will possess an
understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,
cultures and societies and the issues which impact upon them in
contemporary society together with a commitment to culturally
appropriate engagement and practice.

Residential Care Workers - Therapeutic Residential Service
Morayfield
We
have exciting opportunities for a Part time, Fixed Term
Residential Care Workers to join our professional team at our
new and innovative Therapeutic Residential Service in Morayfield.
Reporting to the Coordinator, you will be working with children
and young people with complex to extreme support needs (no more
than 6 at a time). These are highly varied positions, requiring
applicants who are resilient and can provide both emotional and
practical support in a wide range of situations and gives you
access to significant training and supervision from team
clinicians and line manager.
Working as part of a dynamic and committed team, this position
requires the successful applicant to have:
- an understanding of child protection and out of home care
- a commitment to therapeutic engagement and practice
We are seeking applicants with relevant tertiary qualifications
and/or significant experience and skills in working with young
people with complex needs. You will have experience working in
the welfare/community service sector with young people, from
Aboriginal CALD communities.
To support your qualifications and experience you will have an
ability to work as part of a team and your communication and
organisational skills must be of a high level. A non-judgmental
attitude; the ability to work autonomously and to follow
instructions, as well as an understanding of out of home care,
are essential.
All successful applicants will undergo a personal history check
and hold a current driver's license; a senior first aid
certificate is desirable.
Positions are available for rostered shifts including some
weekend and night shifts; Residential Care Workers may be asked
to work in any MFS locations at short notice.
