Mercy Community provides foster care and kinship care services for children and young people who are unable to live at home because of child protection concerns. In 2015-16, Mercy Community provided 246,418 nights of foster and kinship care to Queensland children through our foster and kinship care programs and services.
We provide foster and kinship care services in the Queensland areas of Caboolture, Brisbane, Logan, Beaudesert, Redlands, Greater Ipswich, Toowoomba and surrounding areas, Warwick and the Southern Downs.
Our role is to recruit, train, assess, support and monitor foster and kinship carers who provide a home for children and young people. We offer our carers dedicated foster care workers, information and training, after-hours on-call support, carer support groups and invites to special carer events. You’ll also receive remuneration for the cost of foster caring from the Queensland Government.
